Stayed at Hotel Lohmann in Obergurgl for a week of skiing and CU Cocktail bar is associated and neighbouring the hotel. The week was very sunny so we were lucky enough to spend every day, after skiing, on the open terrace of the bar. Having a variety of sofas, deck chairs and standard table/chairs there were options to suit your preference. The drinks were reasonably priced and my wife and I found the bar to be well suited to our chilling out directly after finishing skiing. The music was varied and at a more subtle level than more lively apres ski type locations so more leisurely than lively. As I say we were lucky enough to sit in the sun until it dipped behind the mountains so had plenty of fresh air with our drinks. Unfortunately the relatively small internal bar area suffered from stale smoke smell and slightly scruffy upholstery so outside was definitely the best option. Certainly a great spot for a sunny week like ours.

Even if the C.U.Bar was right by the slopes I doubt it would be that successful - unless major changes were made to it. To start with, it was incredibly smokey. Yes, I know we could have (and should have) walked out but we wanted to watch the rugby on Sky and couldn't find anywhere else showing it near our hotel. It's also in the wrong place - in a barren area between the first two (of three) clusters of building that make up Obergurgl.This bar is identical in size and layout to Schatzi's in Saalbach - I'd suggest the owner / manager of the C.U.Bar goes there to see how to properly run a bar of this size.
We just popped in for a quick cocktail on the way past. The cocktail took a bit of a while to come and it was fairly average tasting. The music in the venue was not to our taste and it was rather loud.
Nette Bar mit einer sehr großen Auswahl an Getränken. War aber leider oft leer. Freundlicher zuvorkommender Service.
Beers & cocktails, friendly bar staff and a very small bar menu - this is an Alpine pub! Smoky, but so are most bars in Europe & all other bars in this resort! One of the best Aperol-Spritzers in Obergurgl!
wir waren mit unseren "Kindern" (17 und 19 Jahren) dort und können die nette Bedienung und vorallem die super leckeren Shots und Cocktails nur empfehlen, Preis Leistung stimmt hier absolut!!
